My wife and I had a wonderful day tour with Kailani Tours leaving from Kona Hawaii and heading south. We stopped at a local cafe for coffee, a wonderful bakery, black sand beach where we saw sea turtles, then up to Volcanoes National Park for a crater rim walk and a great lunch included with the tour. From there we went to Hilo where we saw Rainbow Falls, stopped at Big Island Candies (great shortbread and chocolate), a local farmers market then back to Kona on the Saddle Road. The tour van

Just a few comments… Plus points 1. Nice tour, good driver/guide (Derek), comfortable van, relaxed vibe 2. Restaurant meal was good although the alcoholic drinks were expensive and the service was unexceptional 3. Walking through the amazing lava tube at nighttime Minus points 1. The volcano chose to be pretty inactive on the day we visited 2. The sky was overcast so we didn’t get dark-sky star viewing 3. Unresponsive customer service from the tour company prior to the trip - outsourced to the

We had an outstanding full-day tour experience in Hawaii. The day started perfectly — they arrived early, and we didn’t have to wait at all. From the very beginning, everything felt well organized and thoughtfully planned. Our first stop was a charming local coffee shop where we sampled their homegrown blends. Just outside, in the garden, we were able to pick and taste fresh fruit directly from the trees. We then visited the southernmost doughnut shop in the U.S., which was a fun and unexpected

Tour was very good. Derrick was an excellent guide. Explained everything very well. Safe driver. Van very comfortable. Provided plenty of restroom breaks. Restaurant dinner was very good. Could have used some mustard or mayonnaise on sandwiches for picnic lunch. Could have used a second video on ride home. Otherwise it was an awesome experience.

Our group of four friends booked a tour with Kailani because this was our third time with them and the previous two were perfection. And speaking of perfection, this was our second time with Grant, tour guide extraordinaire! Grant pulled up at our condo’s doorstep in a nicely appointed Mercedes van and from that moment on, we were in for a fun day of adventure and discovery! It was wonderful to not have to worry about driving or making any further arrangements. Since it was a private tour, G

Derek was an excellent guide- never rushed, and very knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to ensure we got to see the volcano erupt, even leading us through the woods at night in the rain to a private lookout. So so grateful we got to travel through the park with him! Outside of Derek’s great work, itinerary was great and van is lux. And $300 is pretty good for a 12hr day including 2 meals. We were disappointed the tour did not have all that was promised… no hot towel service, no all day s

Very poor! Our excursion was cancelled by the company on January 5th. Per their policy we were entitled to a full refund. 5 weeks later we have not received any refund. Been told it’s under review. Paid $1180.24 4 months in advance. Unfortunately being forced to seek legal action for non-payment. Will not recommend ever going with this company. I paid in good faith and expected to be treated the same.

Great experience! Great overview of the entire Big Island! Chris was a super knowledgeable guide who provided so many stories of life on the island. Stops at the coffee plantation, Volcanos National Park, Big Island Candies and Rainbow Falls, made for a perfect day. I highly recommend Kailani Tours!
